ManagerAs a Manager at H&T you are responsible for the day to day operations of the Store, which includes the leadership and development of all Store Staff, as well as achieving the financial targets for the store, adherence to Company policies and procedures, ensuring customer service standards are achieved and maintained, good retention of staff and recruitment of new staff as directed by the Area Manager.

freedom on the initiatives they adopt in each Store or Area, to enhance business, as they know their customers and the environment in which they operate better than anyone else. If staff have suggestions on how things could be done better, the Company encourages ideas to be expressed and shared.

If you have progressed from the Assistant Manager position within H&T as a Manager you will be provided with further management skills training covering; appraisal skills, interviewing skills, training and coaching skills.

If you are recruited direct into a Manager position you will undergo training for 3 to 6 months before you become responsible for your own Store. The nature and time of the training would be dictated by the previous experience of the candidate. It would involve both on and off the job training as well as spending time shadowing and being coached by our more experienced Store Managers, as well as your Area Manager.

When we recruit an individual direct into a Manager position, rather than being promoted from an Assistant Manager position, the successful candidate must have previous supervisory experience of 1 to 2 years,
ideally the candidate will have been a Manager in a small team environment for at least 1 year. Previous retail experience is preferred along with exemplary customer service skills and good numeracy and accuracy. The ability to cope well with pressure, use your initiative and effectively prioritise workloads is also essential.
